OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS NOT THAT WE ARE INADEQUATE
OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS THAT WE ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE.
IT IS OUR LIGHT, NOT OUR DARKNESS, THAT MOST FRIGHTENS US
BUT
WHEN WE LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE,
WE UNCONSCIOUSLY GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DO THE SAME.
AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEAR,
OUR PRESENCE AUTOMATICALLY LIBERATES OTHERS.

the first part actually makes some sense to me. we are also afraid on some level of having GREAT power, the ability to cause great pain or suffering to someone. i'm more afraid when I have to pretend like I LIKE someone than when I put on a show for someone to like me. it's weird.

I don't know, I'm definitely an arrogant bastard and deeply believe I have great power. But I know its wrong and so try desperately to contain that arrogance, for fear of hurting other people with it (so there's the link I guess).
