Now turn both rage-filled questions to yourself....as if your Grand Self is asking (the more realistic part of) you "if you/I don't think I'm so brilliant, then FUCK YOU!!" and then notice that DP serves that function.
If I cannot be (in my own eyes) the grandiose self I NEED to believe I am, then I HATE ME - and I disown me - and I will have nothing to do with me!!! (enter dp)
And the even more poignant second question you ask: "Who the hell do you/I think you/I are/am???"
Self is composed of many part-selves....pieces of self-image compartmentalized so tightly that we can literally wage war against them. If my self-image is more important to me than my real experiencing living SELF, then any threat to that (esp. from within) might make me disown me. And DP is nothing if it's not the disownment of self.
food du thought?
Love,
J
