There's that famous story of a man praying to god: please god help me win the lottery!
And he prays it over and over again but alas, he doesn't win the lottery.
So he asks "Why didn't you help me win the lottery?!"
And god responds "My son, buy a ticket!"
Same with DP. You can pray for it to go away but my son, take the actions!
I think it would be powerful to ask god why you are going through this, to ask god to help you see what is causing this state. That could be a more effective prayer.
