As many of you know, my life revolves around coincidences. I see them daily and am often scared to death by how seemingly impossible some of them are.
So anyway, I will tell you about the absolute weirdest one I've ever had, which happened two weeks ago. It has stuck with me ever since and pretty much convinced me that I am the one and only sole person in this world. So here it is:
I volunteer at a hospital radio station and was going to be on air for the first time, obviously I wanted people to listen so I told just a couple of friends. One of the friends I told, we have a nickname for, it's quite an unusual one but for the purpose of this post we'll say it's John. Anyway, 'John' used to call in to a station a friend of mine worked in all the time, and asked if he could ring in to mine and make a request. Of course I said yes, as the station never ever got any calls!
So I'm doing the show, it's going very well. We are playing a song and the phone rings. My colleague answers, and low and behold a 'john' is on the line. He makes a request, says the kind of joke my friend would always make and that's that. I immediately tell my colleague I know who it is (given he used his nickname and it's very unusual) and the fact that we never get any calls and he told me he was going to. My colleague notes that he also has a friend called 'john' and it sounded a lot like him (I didn't actually speak to 'john'). Anyway I thought that was interesting but KNEW it was definitely my friend due to the circumstances I just explained.
So anyway fast forward to the next day, and I text 'John' to thank him for the call. Now, John is actually aware of my issues and I can categorically say he would not wind me up about this kind of thing as he has seen me on the verge of killing myself, and has been very supportive. So yes, it turned out he never got round to listening and in fact it wasn't him that called. Oh and it wasn't my colleagues friend either!
Now normally one would say fair enough, but all of the things I just mentioned just make it seem so impossible that it was just a coincidence. The station never gets called, he said he would, someone with the exact same unusual name calls, it wasn't him. This all happening at a time in my life where I'm worried about coincidences and the biggest one I've ever seen happens during that time. I just don't see how it could be down to anything else but magic, or the idea I'm creating it all, or that I've somehow transported to s different world without realising. It's made me so paranoid.
Anyway sorry for the long post. The point of it was to find out what the weirdest, most gobsmacking, most ridiculous coincidence you've all experienced is. I would really appreciate if you could share. What was it? At what point did it happen in your life? Etc etc.
