Okay i have been coping with DP/DR for almost 2 years now and personally i feel like a functional robot or to some extent a psychopath. Psychopathic tendencies have sky rocketed for me :

1. I get bored very very easily.

2. Only way to cope I found is to work on something that is a bit interesting obsessively.

3. Once i have finished a project i jump to something next.

4.I consider everyday as my last to beat this thing.

I don't get to much fun out of what i do its just my way to cope with DP.

How do you all people feel, behave to cope or manage it without becoming totally numb to emotions ??

Stop trying to beat it you will never win.

The only way it will go is if you let go and just accept it. It sound like you are doing your hardest to destract it by forcing your self to do stuff. Only do stuff you want to do that you enjoy and do it becaue you want to not to try and destract yourself. Its really hard at times but the only way to get over this is to accept it.

well the thing is psychopaths do have an extremely high IQ, and sometimes(nearly always) DP/DR gives you a totally different perspective which normal humans will only dream of achieving with our emotions numbed the rational brain kicks in to full gear and you look at big picture and nearly all my deductions are always right if you kno what i mean you feel like shelock so this thing is a bit advantageous too if i can do the balancing act.

If i go on the road of acceptance its sure that my old childish personality will be back but not for long because in that state any stress and BAM i'll be right back to totally blank mind and then again i would have to teach it to think and all.

I know what you mean. But I'm still dumb with a blank mind. It's such a paradox.

Well, you can have a totally different perspective of thinking and analysing but at the same time not being emotionally numb. You must give up to your feelings and enjoy your genuine being. Once you stop analysing how you feel, the emotions will start to have their contrast.
