Hi everyone,
You know, this is my first post in this forum, I think. But I thought I would share what my week/weekend has been like. I'm writing from a courtesy email kiosk in the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington DC. I've been here for 3 days at the Conservative Political Action Committee, or CPAC. Its incredible. All of the Washington bigwigs are here, no matter what your political affiliation. Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, Matt Drudge from the Drudge Report, CNN, FOX....I'm looking into the market for political internships, which is one of my 3 passions in school at the moment, the other two being movies and medicine. But I think that working in Washington for the summer would be fun. Anyways, I'm here with 3 friends from Pittsburgh, and if I didnt have DP, I dont think I would even be here. I attend Pitt and Duquesne, but I'm here with people from Carnegie Mellon. Luckily, my parents wont let me live at home with DP, so I'm living with some of these fine folks who happen to have connections I wouldnt have in the small midwest town I grew up in. Its been awesome so far. Speakers, lots of other students, "campaign" parties at night....its a really amazing experience. Maybe I'll get a job out of it too....Is anyone else on the site big on politics ? Hope everyone has a frutiful weekend.

Peace

Wow. They say the two things you shouldnt talk about are religion and politics. On this board at least, the latter holds true. This has gotten a whopping 8 views. Not replies, views. Thats incredble. Not good or bad, just says something about interest in politics on the board.

I'm pretty ignorant about politics and they often bore me. I view myself as some sort of half-assed Libertarian, but really, I don't believe in much of anything. I could side with the democrats on one thing, the republicans on another.
On another note, I visited Pittsburgh awhile back to see the Carnegie International at the Carnegie Mellon (a great art show, and I'm an art student). It was really nice, the Pitt campus looked nice and the city of Pittsburgh was beautiful. It was great. Not too long a bus ride from my native Central Ohio.
