Hi,

Just went to the optometrist, to do a test.... I was sure I would have to have glasses (yepee), I was full of hope.. because with glasses I feel less anxious...

Guess what.... DP/DR isn't related AT ALL to floaters, or bad vision. I had more than excellent vision, a bit of hyperopia, that means I am +0,50, it seems I see more than normal. It seems to be not that usual, some cops have this kind of vision (she said).

I should be happy, I am argh.......

No easy solution for me.

Thanks Ziggo it's REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALY funny and in the topic. Pertinent.

I just wanted to tell my experience about vision problems because many of us talk about floaters, and vision problems. And in fact we have a good vision, it's not related, but we often think it's related.

I have really good vision, too, but am always thinking I need glasses. I've discovered I can see things far away or up close or whatever, it's just that I have poor depth perception now. Another thing is that since I've had DP, it's like my vision doesn't have good concentration. At first glance I have trouble seeing things b/c it's like my eyes won't stay fixed on an object, but if I take the time to actually concentrate on something, I see it no problem, despite the fact it may not look real.

Gimpy. I like how you said your vision has poor concentration. Good way to put it.
Before I found out about what I had (dp/dr vision), I went to the eye docs often hoping for glasses or answers. Always so strange to hear my vision was 20-15....eagle vision.
So strange to have beter than normal vision and have your view look blurry and hazy all too often.

Thanks for posting this topic. I too have dr and use to have really great vision. In the last two years my vision has started to change. I also found out that I have glaucoma. I had a very simple procedure on my eye, a laser iridotomy. My eye has never really felt as strong as it once did. I have always questioned if the glaucoma has caused my dr, or if the surgery did. Actually I remember feeling weird about five months before I found out I had glaucoma. I am 42 and am pretty young to have it. I am not that faithful about taking my eye drops because I am phobic of meds. I talked to my doctor about it and he convinced me of the importance of taking care of my eyes and keepimg the pressure low so that my vision does not deteriiorate further.

I have been getting a lot of floaters too, I try to ignore them but sometimes I let them freak me out.
