Ok. So a lot of us like to catastrophize. "I'll never get better," etc.

So I thought... Why not try a little exercise. (Actually I really recommend "loving what is" by Byron Katie. Excellent book on changing thoughts.)

When you think:
"I'll never get better"
Try:
"Lots of people have recovered. Chances are good that I can recover as well."

When you think:
"I'm missing out on the best years of my life"
Try:
"Who really knows if my peers are having the time of their life? Maybe they also have challenges."

If in a social situation, and you're thinking:
"I hate how detached I am"
Try
"How can I contribute to the fun of this situation?"

Etc.

It won't CURE you, but it can get you on the right track...
