Eh, who cares really? You said yourself that this will be used as "evidence even years down the road". If you are not a violent killer or sex offender, who cares that that they look at your internet records?

Let's say that I break the law in my life (I never have been arrested for anything). I find sex crimes, murder, and anything that harms children or animals disgusting, so that rules out those crimes.

So, let's say at the dead worst, I decide to steal something. Do you really think evidence that I view adult porn on my computer, or any other adult material for that matter, is relevant?

Unfortunately, our lives are monitored by Big Brother every day. It won't be long before they have their hands into things like satellite radio and internet.

I wouldn't be surprised if toilets come out with a spy camera in them for the government. Hey - you never know when someone is planning on using their own excrement as a WMD.

Actually, I do find such things quite disturbing, but what can one do except secretly plot to overthrow the establishment? Or buy disc cleaning software which overwrites and low-level formats your entire hard drive.

Its not a problem until the government decides something you do is a crime but you don't agree with it. What if the government where to declare that reading internet sites about psychosis is a threat to national security? That's right, every one here would soon be labelled as terrorists.

I am very against it - at worst it can be used to imprison people for no reason, at best it can be used to sell you more junk you don't need (i.e. tracking what your interests are and tailoring advertising to suit you).

Well, it kind of bothers me. But I've always had that same attitude as mc, who cares what they see me doing? I'm not doing anything that the rest of the world, and politicians aren't doing, like looking at porn. I'm not that interesting of a person.
