What do you all think about this kid being charged for the murder of his grandparents who blames the Zoloft for his actions? He was 12 at the time of the incident and is now 15, but being tried as an adult.
Personally, I think he should get off (for murder and the Zoloft). When I was on Zoloft, I remember jumping from 50 mg to 100 mg, and I felt like the Terminator. I seriously felt indestructible. I was pacing back and forth through the hallways and was totally restless. My mind was racing and I felt like I was about to jump outside my skin. The only funny thing about it is that all of a sudden I got the urge to run and I seriously could have run a 10K without getting tired. But...I took some Klonopin and calmed down. I've been on a lot of meds and have had racing thoughts and all sorts of symptoms but this was a whole new feeling. So, I can only imagine what it could do to a 12 year old mind.
A guy I knew with bipolar disorder told me about a manic experience he had in college when he broke into the university aquatic center by himself at 2 in the morning and started swimming laps for no reason. He wasn't a swimmer, he was just off his rocker. Finally, university security came in and he faked a cramp to try to gain some sympathy.
