I was just hit with the worst wave of "where am I". I was standing in my kitchen talking on the phone to my sister when BAM The worst wave washed over me and it felt as if I did know where I was. What is this? Does anyone know why it happens? Could it be an emotional reaction to the conversation I was having? It came and went so fast and left me feeling scared. I am not on meds never have been, I am assuming it is all part of the anxiety, dp/dr condition.

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

mostly such thoughts are caused by anxiety and dp/dr, it's part of it.
but specially when dp/dr involves obsesive thougts about existance as with me, you can suffer from these feelings. I have those a lot (if I know what you mean that is) to me it's more that i'm actually way to aware of where I am what makes me wonder where I am :? don't know if it's the same for you tough

Sassy,

Could it be an emotional reaction to the conversation I was having?
It could be. You can look for triggers. Maybe it was the subject you were talking about or simply having your sister on the phone that has raised all kinds of feelings and thoughts you are not aware of, and in turn caused you to be more anxious.
