does anyone else feel like that there past really didn't happen
Like when I go to try and remember my past I can remember it, but it's like it never happened or it was like a dream. I was just wondering if anyone felt this way because it's one of the symptoms that really irritate me

The longer I have had DP the worse it becomes because If you have had DP for like 5 years then all your memories from the past 5 years are while DP'd and feel even more unreal :( I think this is one of the worse symptoms bc when it come to time perception we use our memories as like milestones in a time line, they help us move forward and also have a great impact on our personal identity, and if those memories are distant then it's harder to feel present and moving forward..

Sorry if that made no sense, but I am 100% with you!

This seems to be one of the common symptoms. The way we perceive time is distorted.

For me there are two ways of looking at it: logically knowing when an event took place and the emotional feeling surrounding when an event took place. You can normally logically work out when something happened but the "feeling" aspect is distorted. It's like it's someone else's memories/a dream, despite the fact that you logically know that they're your memories.
