I find I take things way too personally and get offended by all kinds of little things which I take as slights. I also seem to have an inferiority complex. Anyone else have similar problems and what do you think are at the root of yours?

Privateer, my African American brother in Christ, as we have chatted about such matters before, I of course am on the same side of the fence with such symptoms.

I think most of us here are.

yeah i have this same problem. i think its because im really hard on myself, so even a harmless comment can cause me to be that much harder on myself - causing a defensive reaction/increase in dr/dp symptoms. i totally understand how u feel.

I used to get this a lot, and at times I still get it. There were times when I would get into fistfights with people over things I had taken way too personally . What worked for me was getting at some of the underlying issues causing me to get defensive and angry. It took some time in CBT, but it isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. I feel more normal now, and more able to control my responses.

My sensitivity borders on paranoia....
Can totally relate.

Interesting...I've noticed that everyone on this board seems extremely intelligent but severely insecure for some reason or other. I'm curious as to why this is, but not close to figuring it all out.
