Sorry, I ask so many questions sometimes...hogging up the board lol.
I'm just trying to figure it all out.

So, last night, I ate some sugary snacks: ice cream and cookies, etc.
I have had fatigue all day: malayse feeling and bleh...like I'm tired in the head (hard to describe); it's definitely fatigue and tiredness.

I'm also a smoker, and I think that may cause some fatigue as well.

I never got the fatigue until the dr and dp.

Does sugar cause you massive fatigue?
Does smoking?

Do you have the fatigue with yoyr dr and dp?

I mean, I've been ready for bed since 2:00 this evening because of the fatigue.
I slept 8 hrs last night, so idk why I'm so drained other than MAYBE the sugar.

Also does sugar make your dp worse?
Thanks.

Afaik, smoking has no direct lethargic effect. Large portions of sugar and refined carbs does make us lethargic, especially if its very high sugar content combined with fat and proteins you are asking for a long and hard sugar crash that can last even for the day after since you ate it in the evening. It all comes down to bloodsugar levels that spike and in return you release a lot of insulin that takes all the sugar out of your bloodstream so you end up with low blood sugar. Thats what make you feel tired and lethargic, it takes a bit of time for the body regulate blood glucose levels back to normal levels. Combine this with the brain-fog from dp/dr and I you might almost feel like a zombie 🧟‍♂️ I've been there 😅

I would do smaller portion sizes when eating the high sugary stuff and do some light exercising after eating will help regulate blood sugar so you won't crash later. And yes, fatique and brainfog is common for dpdr.

High sugar and high carb diets are fucking awful for you, they cause diabetes and many other illnesses. That's no secret.
I do feel lethargic and low energy after eating a lot of sugar. However I followed a keto diet for about 6 months and it had no effect on my actual DP/DR, so now I've relapsed and eat a lot of sugar. Keto did not work for me but I encourage you to give it a go if you haven't already, some people get health improvements from it including mental health improvements. And some people are very sensitive to sugar and get very bad effects when they eat even a small amount of sugar or carbs.
