I know I'm always recommending books but this one - Stop Thinking Start Living by Richard Carlson is really worth a read.

It helped me out of the dp negative thinking cycle before, and having had a bit of a blip, I'm re-reading bits that I had forgotten and it works wonders for having a positive mental attitude. It also reminds you that you are in control.

I'm sure it won't apply to some but if reading books on the subject and understanding how the mind works helps you then go for it.

Haha. I've written all sorts of blogs on the internet based on this book. I try to "stop thinking" as much as possible. I've got entire days without thinking and guess what, i haven't had any anxiety. The hard part is sustaining it.

actually, that book is a good read. I looked through it once and he recommends the same sorts of things that I've used myself for several years to not be stressed out about dp/dr. I think I've posted a few times about "not thinking" before. The book has good advice for obsessive thinkers.
