does it feel like you are staing instead of looking?

i just noticed that my eyes feel so achey all the time...

and i feel like instead of looking around i am just staring at things...

even when i focus on things it still feels as though i am staring...

just wondered if people had the same thing :)

any comments are welcome as always :D

I stare alot. Mostly when I am driving. Which is prolly dangerous. But I get trapped in my own mind and stare. I also stare when I am sitting waiting to talk to someone. For example, when I am in my boss's office and waiting for him to get off the phone or something, then I stare into space. I often wonder if he notices!
Owell, I am still employed, been here for a year, so must be ok. Take care.

Very much so. I am still struggling to find words for what I feel (or don't feel) and staring is the best (shorthand) definition of derealisation I've heard so far. The impossibility of looking at things and immediately making sense of them enrages me at times.

i always find myself staring too, sometimes for a long time and i've been totally unaware of time passing. however, now when i realise i am staring i try to make an effort to snap out of it and try to become aware of what is going on around me.. i feel that i need to make this effort because i can easily stay stuck in this trance and my dp seems to get worse.

and then people call me absent-minded.

hah!

they new all along and never told me. them b***ards. and then my eyes become all read and itchy and dry. Yep, I know that feeling. once I start staring, most of the time it's for a whole day and my reflexes are 0.0

Since I got DR, I've had the feeling that I need to stare and stare too much. When I'm talking to someone I feel like I need to look right at them because I always feel like looking away, and I don't want people to notice I'm having odd visual symptoms. Basically, I want to appear natural, not like I have DR symtoms (as if that were even noticeable). When I'm alone I feel like I need to stare because it feels less stressful to stare than to focus.
