For some reason, this always brings me brief moments of relief (where I can sense the realness of the vast expanse up above).

But then I look back down and I'm back in a dream again.

Does anyone else experience this?

Any idea/s why it could be?

if i look up at the sky, i am attacked by numerous floaters...even while driving during the day this is hard on me....these strings of cobwebs and dnz strands, if you will, are hellish on me..

I'm always so busy, that I only ever look up at the stars by accident...should I be feeling bored by someone at a barbecue or something! As I look at the beauty of the universe, it's great to wonder what's going on everywhere else. I'll gaze at the sky for at least an hour, spotting hundreds more stars as my eyes adjust, then I'll tell myself to remember to look at the stars more often. But I always end up forgetting to do so.

I haven't noticed if it helps my Dp or not, but looking at the stars always gives me a really lovely feeling of peace and wellbeing. Really lovely - that is - until the blasted UFOs arrive to spoil it, with dozens of their green, hideous-looking, sweaty monsters, who grin menacingly, as they mercillessly frazzle my friends (and boring idiots) with their ray guns.....

This is going to sound really weird, but...erm, when I was suffering from DR, and even now if I'm suffering from anxiety, well....submersing my head (completely) in water - like when swimming, or in the bath or whatever, really eases my symptoms. I remember snorkelling in Mexico years ago, when I was still DR, and the relief was almost like popping 100mg of Diazepam. Strange.

My apologies to all those with floaters (which is a significant percentage of the membership here).

Wasn't my intent to generate any 'clear-vision-envy',lol

I actually do have floaters myself.

But they're small enough, and few enough, that I've always been able to ignore them and look past them (I think Janine said that. In any event, I was doing so long before she made the recommendation).

Thus enabling me to generate the illusion, at any rate, of a view of the world that is uncontaminated by these little beasties.

But I understand that for many of you (if not most) this is a lot easier said than done.

That said, I appreciate all of your replies (regardless of whether you were in the yay camp or the nay camp).

Me, I'll just keep looking up (while trying to figure out how to bring the sensation this gives me back down to the ground, lol).
