This is for Shadow, and I, and all those who are looking for something to help calm them down. When I first started with this disorder, I was real big on two things: fear and thinking to the point where it was obsessive compulsive. Working with a biofeedback person and being taught how to breathe and calm myself down was a tremendous start for my beginning to get a grasp on this monster. For those that don't know, you are hooked up to a machine that shows your "anxiety waves" on a screen. You then start working with how you psyche yourself up with anxiety and how you can calm yourself down. The gal I worked with was also a counselor so that really helped add to the mix.

Why I mention this again is that I was watching a show yesterday and they are working with kids with ADD/ADHD and biofeedback. They hook the electrodes on the head and get the kids to watch their brain waves and then educate them on how they themselves can retrain their brainwaves. Retrain your brainwaves??? This to me was a big WoW.

Biofeedback does not work for everyone, as I have learned on this site. Some will poo-poo cbt, medication, and pretty much anything as it has not worked for them. To those of you reaching out for anything that may bring you back to some form of reality, I hope you never give up or count things out because they did not work for someone else.

We are a very special and unique people. Don't give up on yourself. Keep on getting up to do battle. Maybe you can't get up and do it today, but at least lay in the bed or work on the computer with positive thoughts about how ,some day soon, you are going to work on kicking this monster's ass!

Thinking of everyone.
