To any of you who have sought out help from mental health professionals, what are some of the best pieces of advice you’ve received from counselors, therapists etc? Whether it be something to help cope with DP/DR or any food for thought that could be uplifting to anyone struggling in general. Hopefully with enough or the right comments the thread can help turn someone’s day around

The one thing I learned from being hospitalized for this mess was that our flaws matter…everybody has a different path and we may have a rough patch to walk through but in retrospect it’s not the worst ailment out there…sure it’s isolating and self destructive but there’s so much hope and potential for healing with this disorder…to bring it full circle you have to ask yourself how many times has this ailment possibly saved your life or has forced you to take a path that no one in the right mind would take…those paths are what make substantial change in the world…our pain isn’t all for nothing….we matter.
Well said. Thank you for sharing. Sending love

All of us need to reach for help til someone listens….bottling this up will hurt ur loved ones and sharing this will hurt ur loved ones…so…why not be consistent and sincere and not force ourselves to walk around like a ghost…be aware that u are broken and trust in the universe and humanity a little…picture in ur mind that there is someone out there who genuinely wants to help you and can help you…because they are out there.
This was a very kind reminder I, as well as I’m sure many of us, needed. Thank you
