Hey Everyone!

This post is on behalf of Erin and myself ( we have also announced this in the Dp cause on facebook).

This post is to confirm the winners of Dr Simeon's Book by generously donating $100 (or more) to the Dp Cause :)

The confirmed winners are: Lewis,Ian,Liz,Steve and Mark ( who generously donated his copy to raise further funds) we are still waiting on the addresses of the others.

As most of you are aware the Conference is looming so you will soon have your own copy of "Feeling Unreal: Depersonalization Disorder and the Loss of the Self " by Dr Daphne Simeon.

As promised, David Kozin of NODID will be attending the ISST-D conference with Dr. Daphne Simeon in mid November and at this time will obtain her signed thank you inscriptions in her books. They will be mailed out shortly after, by the end of November at the latest.

Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop!

Don't fret, if you already have a copy or will buy a copy, Dr. Simeon and I discussed having an informal meeting with individuals who either are from this web site, Erin and Robs's Facebook Cause, or a NODID participant. Tentatively, this has been scheduled during the Refreshment Break at 10am, which is scheduled immediately after our paper conference on Monday. In her words, "let's try 10am and if it does not work out well enough we can figure out something later that day; does not have to be too formal." As Robs said, Dr. Simeon will be sign any book, and her publisher produced a paper back edition that is now out, so you can purchase a copy for half the price. There is another update: Note, NODID published one paper in January, and has a second paper accepted to be published by the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry in about 6 months, and both of these papers are being discussed during the conference. However, it is only the second, not-yet-published paper, that has a dedicated slot during a Paper Seminar at 8:30am on Monday, and the other paper will be discussed as part of a body of evidence for improving the diagnostic criteria for DPD during a panel discussion co-chaired by Dr. Simeon and the President of the ISSTD, however this panel discussion is not focused on just this one paper. I will give a more detailed post about what each presentation, and will provide information in better inform you so you can make a better decision on what day they would like to attend if you are choosing the option to pay for a single day versus attending the entire conference. I will give you my opinion on the significance of each presentation, and I was just recently made aware that our first paper will be used as part of the discussion on Sunday night's panel discussion.

I am looking forward to meeting everybody who attends! It is turning out to be quite a gathering of individuals!

Cheers,

David
