Sensory overload

Anyone ever feel like there is so much to see or hear that it's just going to ber too much and then they'll somehow go blind or deaf or just plain crazy trying to take it all in? I know it's just another dp/dr thought, but it's annoying. I'm on day two of not drinking, hoping that things will start to get better without that factor involved in my life.

God, yes! I think that's why benodiazepines help a bit; they sort of dull our raw-nerve senses. Even with a lot of my symptoms gone, I can't go into places like Home Depot. The flourescent lights, the bazillion things on the shelves, that damned PA that blares like a fog horn (and always interrupts the one song they play that I like), the people moving around everywhere... Hell on earth would be for me to have to work there.

What player is that in your avitar? Looks like someone from the Orioles.
