I just read this sentence in something I googled into

"We already knew from human studies," Heath tells us, "that if you're suspended in weightlessness you'll hallucinate, have delusions, and experience what is known as depersonalization."
This made me wonder. What would happen to someone with severe and chronic depersonalization disorder in a sensory deprivation tank? Has anyone experiment with sensory deprivation? I remember being interested in this some time ago, but you don't hear much about it anymore.

Maybe what depersonalizes other people may re-personalize us. :)

I was trapped in one of those tanks a while back. My brain exploded after about half an hour and two cleaners had to be called in to wipe the walls down. Like a poker game, or riding a very small piece of metal very quickly down a hill, distraction can be a great diversion for avoiding thoughts of DP while you're still unable to control them through will power alone. I wont let anyone take my lovely distractions away from me anymore.

... and those poor, poor astronauts!
