Hello all.

So let me start this off by saying I'm not a super metaphysical person, I believe in science. Moving on, I have a weird quirk. I enjoy taking showers in the dark.
I don't really know when this started, but it's something I've done off and on again for some time. I never really thought anything of it.

The only benefit of it is I tend to get an increase in my imagination. I often times have elaborate scenarios play out in my head where I feel whisked away as If I had a front row seat for a really good movie.

Anyways having only recently found out about DP I have become very analytic about my habits. This usually results in internal dialogue and back and forth optimism/pessimism.
With that in mind, today I decided to take another shower in the dark.

Everything was normal. I turned on the water, turned off the lights, and stepped into the shower.
For some time now I've notice I tend to keep my back to the water, my left arm behind my back holding my right arm in place as it hangs down, and I rock side to side with the water as I begin my thoughts.

Today was weird. I don't remember what I was thinking about, but mid way through a thought I became aware I was having it and realized I was practically sucked into a dream.
Maybe I'm wording wrong, but It basically felt like I was dreaming while awake and before I snapped back to reality I had the realization... It wasn't quite a day dream either. I could see all of the imagery perfectly and in the moment I felt no attachment to my body at all.

My initial reaction was "Is this what an out of body experience feels like?" But the more I think about it, I'm not sure.

So my question to you all are these:

1. Have you ever tried sensory deprivation?
2. Have you ever had an out of body experience?
3. Do you day dream often?

And yes I am aware I am not practicing true sensory dep. I simply lack the tools. So for now I'll settle for visual dep.

Many people will argue this point…but this detachment for many is hormones…some have unresolved baggage and bad anxiety that when constant causes the dissociation..for some it’s a vestibular migraine…etc. etc….this out of body stuff is hormones or mechanisms affecting hormones…it may be innocent enough but I assure u there’s a darker side to it…these hormone issues people write off can lead to furthering dysfunction in the body…it’s easy to push it aside everyday if it’s not severe and say ah it might get better tomorrow…then ur 10 years down the road and it’s even more of blip in time because this disorder messes with time and space…I will stop blabbing..not sure how long Uve been experiencing this but just be timely and stay on top of it the best u can…my spacey-ness would just get worst and worst…i first noticed it for myself when I realized I had body dysmorphia from anxiety…my perception was warped…very difficult to ground oneself.

i can give just one argument which will dispute your whole theory. people recover on its own. many. how do they recover without any medical intervention?
