Im wondering if anyone else notices this. It first happened when i was 14. I noticed it more in overcast skies, but now its all the time. The sky looks sparkle-pixel like, also I see little blurs of somethng, (they kind look like clear worms) that float around. This triggers the DP/DR in a major way. I try not to look at the sky. But when things are going good, for some reason, I always do. -Replies appreciated, thanks-

Hi,

This is something called the entropic phenomenon or something of that nature. It is eye-related. Almost everyone has it, but most people don't notice it. Same with the vitreous floaters that you're noticing. The only reason it triggers your dp is because you become anxious at the ethereal implications of their being little sparks of light and clear worms floating in the sky. In truth, they are just shadows reflected on your retina from inside the eye. The only thing i would say to be wary of is if you're seeing suddenly many more of these floaters/flashes, in which case i would contact an optomotrist.

If you're middle aged, the extra sparkles that you're noticing could also be caused by a vitreous detachment...perfectly natural, but strange nonetheless. But it's probably the former. You're just noticing them and it's anxiety.

Hope that helps...
