just another day in paradise, huh? :D

nah, Andy, it does seem like you mention many of the visual disturbances we all have to one degree or the other. a favorite of mine is things seeming tooooooo far away or tooooooooooo close. this is particularly interesting when driving or meeting someone new. taste in mouth? when my anxiety is real high, i sware i have a taste like a metal spoon is hanging out of my mouth...very metallic.

so there's just a few of the things we have in common. in case you haven't noticed...the less you get excited about the visual hang-ups, the better off you are. the more you "look" for them, the more you'll see them. you can count on that.

take care,

A ?tinny?, ?metallic? or ?ammonia? smell or taste
The sensation:
You have a persistent ?tinny?, ?metallic? or ?ammonia? smell in your nose, or you taste it often and it?s not from your food or environment. Often it?s just there, but you can?t figure out why.

The reason:
As discussed in the ?Lack of Taste? symptom, this is another example of how we can receive incorrect or inaccurate sensory perceptions because of an over stimulated nervous system.

I keep wiping my glasses because I can see a haze or a film over the world.
I often ask people if there is smoke in the air today?

True story, yesterday I told my daughter to look quickly out of the window because the kangaroo is back again.
She walked over, looked and said good one Mum!it's a bloody cat LOL damn that neighbour's cat has got fat.
Well it came out of the bushes exactly where the kangaroo walked out of the day before.
Don't worry, this is not DP,it's plain poor vision.
My daughters getting a lot of mileage out of this one,she thinks I'm seeing kangaroos every where.

I've seen kangaroos in australia and pretty much my only reaction was 'look a kangaroo.' Then I went about being an ugly american tourist.

yeah, i saw a llama in bidborough. the thing is i'm sure I ACTUALLY saw a llama and it's just that everyone else wasn't looking in the right direction. I'd only had two whiskeys. I really don't think I hallucinate llamas.

most of the vision things i quite like. stuff waving and breathing, it's normally not bad enough to interfere. it can get quite claustrohic though.

I don't know about tinny or ammoniay, but I often smell things that I know I recognise and have no idea why or what they are. I think it's random smells that I remember that just suddenly seem like they're really there. I hadn't thought of relating it to dp before but i guess it is part of the sensory overload thing.
