Does anyone have this? When you look at colour photos of familiar things,
people or places do you see the objects in the picture the way you saw them before dp/dr? Or, if you can't recall what things were like before dp/dr, do pictures look at least more towards what you think would be right.
For me the eyes of a camera see the world almost the same as i did before i had dp/dr. It's like all i have to do is jump INTO the photograph
and i'll have jumped through the dp/dr window into freedom.
Even if i take a picture of my bedroom and look at it the next day it
will look great, which is not how it looks in real life.

yes this is wierd.... its like when you look at pictures in general you dont feel so derealized, but when your lookin at objects around you and the outside world everything looks distorted.

when looking at pictures I can recall the events, know how i should be feelin but the feelins all distorted, the pictures don't look distorted as such, it's just more the way it triggers the memory :(

Hey Phill

I get similar things. In Janine's book, she discusses this same phenomenon as it relates to people's faces. She says that those people who you are closest to seem to look the most unfamiliar, and complete strangers look very familiar. I get this crap quite often. I really don't understand any of it to tell you the truth. I think it is because we 'know' what familiar people should look like, and when they don't appear that way because of the DP, we take quick notice. Whereas with stranger's faces, since we have never seen them before, our brains are free to interpret. Wierd.

i hate photographs of me...

when i look at them i cannot believe that that was me once standing there having my photo taken...as if that moment never happened...

photographs bother me quite a bit...they are just as unreal as the world and myself...
