Story time.

There is a lot of hang up in Northern Ireland about Elvanse/Vyvanse (ADHD Stimulant).

I got the script from a private physiatrist.

(She is a registered specialist with 20 years under her belt. It's done through Skype, if you are in the UK and not getting anywhere i'd advise it actually. Not great having to pay, but sometimes you get what you pay for as they say, PM me if you want details)

Anyway, this script for Elvanse has raised a lot of eyebrows.

1st Pharmacy - I called them and said I have Elvanse script, straight away got put onto the manager, who said without any hellos "it's not something we would do"... a bit shocked i said, well why not? well you know the trick of answering a question with a question, she asked "Who would give you a script for Elvanse". I said my Physiatrist, then she basically just said no it's not a drug i'd be happy to dispense.

2nd - Called a different place for them to go away for a minute and then come up with "we can't get that in, our distributors don't have it" magical answer, as she didn't even call them.

3rd - Called and they said they would see the script and see what they could do but couldn't give me a price.

4th - Last I called a big chain, they said they would order it once they seen the script but gave me a price and seemed a lot happier. A family member went down as I thought this was just a formality.

Was told the script was wrong but they couldn't tell why (it's defiantly not, it's written like any script apart from it's on private script paper).

Then they decided to move to goal posts, asking who my local doctor was (it's a local town so they knew him), they then asked for me to go and see him and get him to rewrite it (this would save me money, but the whole point is for her to dispense it on a trial).

She then sat down with my family member and told her "you don't know what's in that" and "i wouldn't let anyone on this medication if it was me" and made sure to leave the conversation with the clause of "if you get your doctor to rewrite it, i'll give it to you".

It's made me look into it's long term outcomes more, but I didn't think it would be this hard..

Hi mate just read your post and your circumstance seem similar to mine as I had to go through the private sector as the waiting list for any mental health issue is a disgrace.Did you manage to get your script for elvanse and how difficult was it to obtain?.Do you have a contact email and I can discuss this with you in a bit more detail.cheers
