Well most of the time I have experienced DP it did not start while I was sleeping. I was doing other things. One time my name was mentioned on National TV. It was a good thing... but I went into sort of a shock because it was a not expected. This resulted in about an hour of DP.

The most recent time was when I was 19 and lost my virginity. While I was fooling around with my exgirlfriend and about to do "IT" for the first time, I got instantly Dizzy. This was 18 years ago and my DP hasn't gone away since.

I can always sense a relation to panic and or anxiety though. Prior to feeling like this My Dad had passed away and I was feeling a lot of butterflies in the stomach in the months following his death. So I think that my DP is totally related.

I also felt like this for a few months when I was 17 years old. Lucklily I was able to snap myself out of it by doing a form of meditation. I stared at a Bumper sticker in my room for 45 minutes. I just concentrated on it intensly with the hopes it would somehow relax me. I then walked into the kitchen and my Dizziness and depersonalization instantly went away as if someone flicked a switch! I couldn't believe it.

So I actually think that all of us have the capability to cure ourselves of DP within minutes! We just need to figiure out what makes our brain relax so that it can get back to a normal state of being.

Take care.
