I keep doubting that I really have DPDR as I don't believe that I've ever had an out of body experience. Many of my memories are in 3rd person (which really contributes to the idea that they're not mine, thanks brain), but I don't believe that has anything to do with OBEs. It's really messing with me, as the idea that I don't have DPDR makes me feel like I'm just insane which is great.

What does an OBE feel like? I've felt disconnected from my body before of course, and this is usually the case, but it's more like I'm sitting in my head looking out through my eyes - much like the episode of Black Mirror: Black Museum - rather than not connected at all.

Out of body experiences are not common in DPDR. DP often comes with a feeling retreating deep within your self (feeling like you exist behind your eyes), or feeling like your center of consciousness is not quite connected to your body in some vague and hard to define way.

Where did you get the idea that OBEs are normal or common in DP? There's been a disconcerting amount of misinformation on the forum lately, in my view because people are so afraid of offending or triggering people that they are claiming every symptom and experience under the sun is DPDR. Broad definitions might make for a larger community, but they tend to render the term depersonalization rather meaningless.
