Absolutely! I get this all the time... I'm glad someone else can relate... Like you say, I wonder if i've gone blind, everything seems slow and it takes me a few seconds to register everything I see with my brain!!!

It scares me sometimes!!

Sometimes I fell like my vision isn't as sharp as it should be, and sometimes I just can't get my eyes to stay focused. I've had this problem for years, and it tends to go along with other depersonalization feelings. I wondered if it was a medical thing. Glad to know others relate!

I have that exact same thing. It's sometimes feels like things are too real rather than unreal. It sometimes feels like this is the real world rather than what I saw when I didn't have DR.

Worrying about losing your sight, or worrying about losing your hearing, or worrying about losing your mind are all the same thing. It's anxiety. That's why we have DP. We are overly active in trying to find something wrong with us and it makes us anxious, over-analyzing everything.

We'll live maybe 80 years. Then we'll die. What we really have to do is quit worrying about what might happen, and start worrying about what won't happen if we don't stop worrying about these things.

Really, that's the crux of it.

This is textbook DP/DR symptoms. Everybody who gets it has their own way of expressing it though. Other people may say that they feel like they are watching life through a grey vail, or on a film or TV, or through a pain of glass or perspex box. Things just don't look like they used to, they don't look 'connected' any more, and your vision can also jump around and get blurry sometimes.

My eyes ache a lot of the time (I don't know if I could really describe it as pressure, though).

I think it comes from staring wide-eyed a lot, which I'm never really conscious of, unless I happen notice my reflection in something (which is always very startling for me, because my expression appears almost maniacal).

It's one of those things, like shaking your foot while sitting, that I just do compulsively, and can never seem to make myself stop.

I often feel like im going to go blind all of a sudden
my eyes go blurred, not as much as when it first started though, if im reading text, so many sensations/symptoms with dp its hard to keep up with them (or remember/catagorise them, lol)

i have the lack of blinking thing as well, think it may be due to always being 'on alert', or hypersensitivity
or maybe its just the optical nerves which are affected along with the lack of chemicals or something?

I see spots of light, (tiny little speckles occasionally) lines which look like I was looking into the sun or something, and what seems like seeing a bug out of the corner of my eye. I hope this is normal.
I totally know what you are talking about. I remember the first time it happened. I was riding on my grandfather's tractor, and I looked up at the sky and there were all these speckles in the sky. It freaked me out, but i get it from time to time. It's like you have been bent over and raise your head quickly, and the blood vessels in your eyes give little lights and spots. I also know what it's like having the little bug in the corner of your eye. Damn eye issues. :D

Im very coincious of the fact I don't blink enough as I should or once did, my eyes seem kind of wide open all the time, although they want to close, sometimes get double images of words etc etc, and shifting so there is a shimmering hazy after image of images sometimes.

I get the little sparkle things in my vision sometimes, like little electrical pulses and such.

Love your sig, lily... Thanks for using it.
Thanks, it's been my favorite quote since I read it several years ago. Usually I can see the truth in it, and a lot of times it's gotten me through low points, although sometimes I just resent the "opportunity for growth." Any way, I'm all off-topic here.
Thanks again!

I have weird eye sensations that might be what everyone else is trying to describe but i'm not sure. The way i describe it is that my eyes arent in sink with eachother. The pressure on them feels different, and i've actually noticed that i see things as different shades of colors in each eye. If i close one eye the color blue gets duller, if i close the other eye it gets brighter. These arent my only visual symptoms but there the ones that bug me the most cuz they make me think i have ms or something. Does anyone else have symptoms remotely similiar to these?

YES. It drives me nuts! They physically *feel* different, one side seems to be slightly blurrier than the other, and colors are a little different--but not all the time! Sometimes it's really bad when I get up in the morning, other times it just appears on its own (related to stress?), and the rest of the time everything's normal. A couple of times, the blurriness has even switched to the *other* side. All the usual tests at the optometrist have come out normal.

Just another strange symptom of this awful condition...
