I am reading these posts and so many people have used drugs that may be inducing their dp/dr episodes. I don't use drugs, yet I have the most horrifying episodes of dp/dr. Maybe I am going crazy.

Hey its ok alot of the people here have never taken drugs like you. I think the figures are around 50/50. I myself have taken illicit drugs but stopped 2yrs before my onset of the illness so I don't think there is a direct correlation (could be though). Anyway just wanted you to know that you are not alone.

I only meant that's how it feels to me, not that mine are any worse than anyone else.

Alessa, I have experienced dp for over 2 years, my dp is not drug induced. But I can relate to you in the feeling of going crazy, I feel this daily. I think anyone with dp whether drug induced or not can relate also.

"Crazy" is only a term to imply that your mind and experience is outside of the "normal" experiences within a society. More to the point, what society wants to believe is normal and has come to expect in terms of behaviour of its citizens. The truth is that there is no normal, sane or insane.

While you may be very afraid, try to uncover the reasons you are feeling this way and it may just turn out to be a learning experience instead of a self-created hell.

i feel sometimes going insane, but my friends keep telling me , i will not. hope so, but what if i go and lose control over myself and.... dunno what to say else.i feel lost

You should do things u enjoyed when u were a kid,thats a strong link to your past.a lot of people blame drugs for this unfortunate experience,a bit of a cop out if u asked me,would have been triggered some other way.1st step is to get music u used 2 listen to when you were younger,the stuff that inspired u,and then go with the flow.gud luck!
