Does anyone have the symptom of meaningless words popping up to their head? I don't mean normal random "thoughts", but it's almost like hearing voices inside your head. The words are out of any context but it feels uncomfortable. I get it more when I'm having a stressfull moment. Does anyone know some explanation for this? An antipsychotic made them go away for a bit but now I've been having more of them, it's really annoying..I used to have this only when I was just about to fall asleep but now when I'm stuck in that state it's happening wide awake too..

I get this sometimes when I'm about to fall asleep. Just because you are awake, doesn't mean you are awake fully. You may not be entering the proper stages of REM sleep, and could possibly still be sort of "dreaming" while you're awake. I know it sounds crazy but it happens. If you don't dream, you will start dreaming while you're awake.

Are you under alot of stress? High anxiety at this time?

I get this too but only when my anxiety is up. I don't think it's anything to worry about and I'm surprised they gave you and antiphsycotic just for that unless you exaggerated a little, hmmmm? was that your family Dr.?

I get this every now and then. I actually like it. It is annoying when you are trying to fall asleep though. I feel it just stems from reading so many books and seeing all these movies. I get it with words, but also with images, and also with the abstraction of a specific idea or feeling. It is uncontrollable and feels like the constant obsessive thinking, except that there is not the slightest level of control over it. I write the words down personally if I am not tired.

good to know I'm not the only one. I never had this problem daytime before dp though. But the words are not not why I take an antipsychotic, it's for my depression which had some psychotic shades in it. Yeah, it's probably because of extra stress, mainly because of a guy..which problem I probably wouldn't have anymore if I told him what's really going on in my mindless mind.
