Hey everyone I’m new to this and tbh like most people I get embarrassed expressing my feelings online but I’ve suffered with dr/dp since April this month was bad as I tried to kill my self 2 weeks after getting it months after month it finally cleared up a tiny bit now again this week has hit me hard I’m currently on my way on holiday and I’m sad as I know I won’t enjoy it cause I feel like half my body’s died. Would love someone to talk to for step to step advice cause I literally feel so alone with it :(

Hey, welcome to the forum.

Don't feel embarrassed about expressing your feelings here. We are a very open and caring community.

Depersonalization is just as confusing as it is difficult. We've all been there, so never feel like you can't speak up about something.

As for advice, my usual go-to is to focus on things that have a more immediate effect:

  • Make sure your diet is well-rounded. Get the recommended amount of nutrients and minerals.
  • Get exercise, as much as you can. Sadness has a way of bringing us down, but it's important to keep our mind and body sharp with being active.
  • Find constructive hobbies that you can enjoy. It'll help when you feel overwhelmed and need something to fall back on.

If you want to go the extra mile, you could always get a blood test and see if you have any deficiencies. For me, I had a Vitamin D problem. The supplement I was given helped wonders, honestly.

Please remember, you are not alone. I thought the very same thing when I got it, but there is a community out there that will support you no matter what.

What do you think caused your depersonalization? If you don't mind me asking.
