Hi everyone,

My name is Josh. I'm 20 years old, and in March of 2015 I began dealing with what I now know as derealization depersonalization disorder. I have no official diagnosis, but through my own research and classes in abnormal psychology, all signs point to this disorder. Over the past two years I have put tremendous thought into the issue, and I've been on a roller coaster of emotion and understanding. As of now I am in a good place, given my current circumstances. However, my symptoms have not gone away.

For the past 5 months or so I've been seeking help though the professional psychology world. Although this is helpful, and I believe it will become much more useful further down the line, it is a very slow process, so I figured I would look for other resources in the mean time.

At this point, the only thing I really find interesting is my disorder. It is the only thing I care to think about. Everything else just "feels" empty and pointless for the most part. Unfortunately there really isn't anyone around me or that I've met in the professional world that can understand me. Plus, none of them have the time to talk about it to the extent I do. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any resources offline or online for people with DR/DP.

I suppose I should specify what I mean by resources. In terms of offline things. I live in Rhode Island so any groups, specialists, just psychologists who are familiar with DP/DR, or places doing research on DP/DR. I'd be interested in hearing about. Or for online, if there are any communities (other than this one) that could be useful for me.
