So I found this forum from a depersonalization website, I'm a 22 year old who was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety/panic disorder with moderate depression. Not entirely sure what will come of this, but I'm hoping to meet people who can enlighten me on how to better deal with derealization. It started a few months ago, although Ive had anxiety my whole life. It's the most terrifying thing that's ever happened to me. For a while I thought something was severely wrong, like schizophrenia. Most times I become convinced someone has given me drugs like acid. Simply learning the word "derealization" has helped somewhat, but when an episode happens it's right back to the same loop of thought processes and ends in hysterical crying or a full blown panic attack. So with this, I'm basically reaching out for help. What kinds of techniques or methods can anyone share with me that can help lessen the symptoms, make them go away, or even fully eliminate them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you could follow this site when anxiety is also a symptom.https://anxietynomore.co.uk/depersonalisation_and_derealisation/
This website has helped me to a considerable extent. The articles kind of teach you how to be your own CBT therapist, and it has allowed me to lower my symptoms markedly.

Even if you don't feel anxiety, there are likely thought patterns that are flawed and compulsive. You also may not be aware of your anxiety, obsessive tendencies. Discovering and identifying these can help you significantly to fix some issues.

The advice given by the articles are taken from this paper if you are interested in knowing more [link].

Elaine Hunter uses this approach in her own clinic, and the approach is used in the Maudsley Hospital.

Good luck
