Does anyone in here experience muscle twitchings throughout there bodies? I got them about a month ago and they are really annoying sometimes like they tickle me and its uncomfortable i try to hold it down but it jus keeps on goin and goin. Usually ill get them on my thighs and arms but they travel wherever muscle is occasionally.

Yeah...I had this alot before...
When I was really anxious...at the time I didnt knew what DP was.
Mainly when going to sleep...
I had this along with *brainslides*, thats what I call them...

yes i get them 2, all over the place but the weirdest ones are my ears! when my ears start to twitch its usually on the same day that i have a dp attack

i really detest the twitching the more stressed i get the worse i twitch......sometimes it feels like my complete body is having a spasm

anyway back on topic... i forgot to say that while i have a REALY bad dp episode my chest twitches (thank god im not like jc's avatar), that look like im getting a huge electric shock

I've gotten these fairly often, but i've always associated them with SSRI or Benzo dependance. I haven't had a benzo in 3 days and I haven't had any twitches in 3 days...go figure. "Brainslide"...if its anything like an evolved sort of acid flashback...i get the same thing.

For several years I've experienced temporary twitching in my muscles but I never connected it to my dp/dr. are you sure it isn't something that is normal?

i know extreme stress causes it and its a sign of poor central nervous system

given the info below (from a google search).. once again, the muscle twitching, like our friends dp and dr, is likely to be no more than a benign symptom of anxiety. So many people with dp/dr are such hypochondriacs! No wonder their muscles are twitching! :wink:

Common Causes:
Benign twitches (not caused by disease or disorders)
Often affect the eyelids, calf, or thumb
Normal and quite common, often triggered by stress or anxiety
A diet deficiency
Drug overdose
Drug side effect (such as diuretics, corticosteroids and estrogens)

I have muscle spasms/twitches in my neck, all along the base of my skull and sometimes down my spine. My neck irritates me so much that sometimes I drink to relieve the discomfort.
