whenever someone is talking to me i always look at their mouth and it feels like the sound isnt coming from it. I feel like im listening to a speaker above me or something, it sounds like them and is normal volume and everything. does anyone else feel like this?

I get this - and I find it really, really hard to concentrate.

I'm going to try and make a game of it, and literally imagine it as a bad over dub like you see in corny old kung fu movies. :lol:

I had this but only for a breaf period. Hmmm.. Could it be that image and sound aren't processed at the same time by the brain?

I just find in general that everything to do with processing the outside world feels splintered or separate when im in a bad dp state so yeh I do get the illusion of sound not coming out of peoples mouths sometimes.

yuck! dont look at mouths whatever you do. its a good way to really freak yourself out. when people speak to me its like slowmo and distant. like charlie browns teacher or like they are speaking from the other end of a tunnel.

I find that its more diffucult for myself to talk. because immediately after saying something, i realize that i didnt hear myself talk. its horrible. its been getting worse for me. i have total voicelessness (if thats even a word)

Ditto. Although I've always hated my own voice - either when played back to me, or when I pay attention to it in 'real time'

my own voice (even a whisper) can sound thunderously loud sometimes...and echo in my head for what seems like minutes. it's a bit disconcerting, eh?

i can't look at mouths or even faces when i'm having a hard time with my derealization. nothing processes or makes sense.
