Just got back from the doctors for my brain scan results as I've felt drunk and drugged for 2 years. Turns out I have a small scar on my brain and was told that in the past I have experienced a mini stroke and this could be causing my symptoms ?

I'm now being referred to a stroke clinic ? Has anybody had anything like this ?

*Spaced out 24/7 worse when dark or I'm tired or in a busy place.
*Vision wavy, not clear and like a blockage feeling.
*Feel drunk, dissorientated .
*Completeley disconnected from my body.

So now I'm so confused , am I being treated for a physical or mental condition. ?!

Electricity and magnetism used to be considered as unique forces, but have since been identified as only one force. I think it is constructive to view the brain and mind in

a similar vein. If your brain has been damaged, as evidenced by your scar, it need not be permanent. The brain has some plasticity and it is

known to rewire itself to recover some functions. Neurology will look at your situation. If there is nothing they can do, then you will be

referred back to psychiatry. That is how it works. Good luck.

I remember taking to you about this a lot. I have been taking Quetiapine and my DR and visual snow has improved a tiny bit. i think with more time it could get a lot better. I still have bad DR but its just a little bit less intrusive than before. Maybe you could speak to your doctor about that. Pregabalin took away the drunk off-balance feeling but if i remember correctly, that didn't work for you.

My main issues now are reducing the DR, but tackling this fucking horrendous "blank mind". This is a motherfucking bitch.

How did you get the brain scan? Was it on the NHS? I want one.

I got offered an MRI on NHS, was told it could be a year or more (but Northern Ireland has no government so no health budget, England will be better) but I went private at £300 (cheapest in the UK because of our health system they have extra work!) got seen in 1 week...

Hi guys and thank you everyone for replying.

The scar is on the back left hand side of my brain. I was told this was the part of the brain that effects co-ordination etc not how you feel and how alert you are which is why the neurologist I saw was confused with my symptoms.

This is the big question then ....

Am I now a patient with brain damage which has given me permanent dp , which the doctors are baffled by as it's a different part of my brain that's scarred.

Or am I now a patient who is experiencing a debilitating mental condition ?!

It's hard to live like this without the NHS can't even figure out wtf is wrong with me.

I had both an MRI scan and an EEG scan.

MRi showed a small scar which indicated a minor stroke , the EEG showed slow irregular brain wave activity.

So when I'm sat at home spaced out to f**** is it brain damage or a mental condition ?!?!
