im going to my first visit to a therapist. im kinda nervous. if in the case am put on meds can anyone suggest what are the best meds for anxiety and mild dp/dr.
meds?

sojourner- yeah i ment to say psychiatrist..i thought they were the same thing, but im seeing a psychiatrist, not a therapist.
Well it's probably gonna be which ever SSRI he favors most. I highly doubt that he'd prescribe klonopin on the first visit.
It's a crap shoot. Different drugs work for different individuals. Some have many side effects, some have none.
Too hard to recommend.
I take klonopin, and it does wonders for my anxiety/DR. That said, i know that it is simply masking the symptoms, as is all medications (if they weren't, you wouldn't have to take them everyday, you'd be cured).
Some people build a tolerance for klonopin. Some develop addiction, and other dependance, big difference though.
Get a feel for the psychiatrist. Are they listening? Do they seem knowledgable? Do you trust them? If so, go w/ what they suggest. If not, there are plenty of other drug writers out there. So don't settle.
