You know what is depressing?

To be aware that you can be left alone, that you're not as important for others that you thought.

To have strong faith in someone, your family, your friends, and then see that they didn't care about you as much as you thought.

To make relationships that mean a lot to you, but to realize that when illness stucks, people go, because they are afraid. And that the relations weren't that important, finally.

To see people, friends, being left alone.

To see someone die, who was SO loved, so adored, then a few days after he die, people start to forget him, and life continues... you know.

Why make all those efforts, why put your faith in people, if at the end, you're left alone, people don't care about you? And then you die, and.... you know, what's the point?

That was my reflexion. I am surrounded by people like that, and just wonder why we are so naive, finally.

That is cruel reality.

That was a off-topic line.

The ability of the human mind to escape into a fantasy world is amazing. This is why you should live. I live for DVD's, Video games, and books. Reality is no longer satisfying or coherent so why not escape into a premade one or create your own?

I don't mean to make light of the situation. Just to say that the world is fucked, completely and utterly fucked, but we can still wring some enjoyment out of the damp dirty rag that is this planet.

Sarcasm or not, I agree with you Scattered. Of course, you could be depressed out of your mind. That's the usual diagnosis when we look at the world around us as see nothing but shite. A lot of people are unwilling or unable to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

I think true 'intelligence' is self-defeating. Sooner or later we'll either all go insane, blow ourselves up or starve the planet. It's inevitable. But I don't care. It's more likely that I'll suck ambrosia from a big hairy cock than stop trying to get some enjoyment out of life.

I'm not depressed yet. I'm preparing from what may be a future depressive episode. In actuality I'm indifferent most of the time. Point being that just because the world sucks, doesn't mean we still can't at least get a little bit of enjoyment out of it before we either kill ourselves, die in a horrible accident, or contract some disease and slowly waste away. You don't have to rush to death it will meet you eventually and sooner than you think. So hang around for a while and see what happens.
