Im being tested for lead poisoning via urine tests. Has anyone heard of lead poisoning being a possible cause?

I wouldn't rule it out. I read a while back somewhere about some guy who had toxic metals in his body causing all sorts of things including DP

I have been wondering the same. My cousin also had it and we both live in tiny old studio apartments in California. Very old buildings with lead waivers you have to sign before moving in. We both have had heavy depersonalization.

Lead poisoning or heavy metal toxicity can cause neurological deficits. I remember being concerned about this as a potential cause of my neuro-psychiatric symptoms, so
I looked into the process of detoxing from heavy metals. The process is called chelation therapy, and If I remember correctly, one can ingest a sulfur based compound
which will bind with metals in your body so they can be excreted. I remember my urine smelling like the sulfur on match tips. One has to be careful, as the chelating agent
does not differentiate good metals from bad. The process can take place over several days, with days off in between to allow for replenishment of necessary metals normally
found in one's body. My chelation experiment didn't do a lot of good, but it also did no harm. I found the origins of my symptoms elsewhere.
