Hi everyone, so i have dp for 3 months and tried every natural supplement and nothing really worked long enough. Its like everything i tried reduced it for a few days and then stopped working. The only time i feel pretty normal is when i wear shades, idk why. So i tried effexor and it made me panic in the middle of the night for 3 days so i stopped taking it. So i started the drug lamotrigine on monday october 15th. Its been almost two weeks and it reduces and then spikes. I take online classes and i noticed everytime i was in class it spiked and then reduced when it was over. Two days ago i had flu like symptoms which is common but if you try the drug and get sick stay strong. I recovered from the flu in 4 days and wasnt even thinking about dp, was focused on not being sick lol. And luckily it has reduced. Im just hoping the drug works ???? im at 25 mg and in two days will go to 50mg. Will update if anything changes...

And unfortunately i started get the rash last night ???????????? so i had to stop. Im so mad. I felt like it was helping until i got sick and then next thing you know, a rash ???? you can try it, you might not get the rash though

Is the rash really that bad? I mean, if something were to help me so that I could feel more and be an active memb of society, I'd trade that for a rash any day. Or does the rash represent something more medically malignant than what I'm thinking?

Yeah the rash could get really worse and burn your skin off and possibly be deadly. Most cases its just burning the skin off. Luckily the rash wasn’t severe for me and went away in a few days after I stopped. If it were up to me i would stay on lamotrigine because I felt like it helped alot with my anxiety, stress and mood ☹ But now im on remeron 15 mg... we’ll see how that works

I am also giving Lamotrigine a try as we speak. I am going by the titrating guidelines:

I am on 50/mg day right now - the ttitrate schedule is below

25mg/day for 2 weeks

50/mg day for 2 weeks

100mg/day for 2 weeks

150 mg/day 1 week

200 mg/day

And if thst doesn't work, try remeron/mirtazapine . I recovered after 4 days of using it . 15 mg
Really? I'm week 3 on Lamo (50 mg) and was going to bump up to 75 mg tomorrow.... also taking 50 mg sertraline, 600mg Gabapentin, .5 mg Ativan, 100 mg Naltrexone and 50 mg seroquel (if I can't sleep)

And before anyone decides to say "wow that's a lot" /

Besides battling anxiety and Dp.... I'm also 73 days clean from a 7 year oxy habit... so I really asked my docs for tools to battle both (early recovery sucks) and the dp/anxiety

If it was up to me.... the sertraline, lamo and gabapentin would be fine

I also have very low testosterone and have a meeting with urology this upcoming week

I am also getting eeg results back on Thursday

What is remeron and mirtazapine? - no google because I'm interested in your recovery

Well theyre the same thing. I think mirtazapine is the off brand name but its an antidepressant and it helps with sleep, ever since dp i havent had a full 8 hrs sleep and on it i can finally sleep without any interruptions. How is gapapentin? I have it peescribed for anxiety but im sacred to take it, ive read that it makes ppl feel spaced out and im not trying to go back to that lol im happy recovered

Gabapentin does well to calm nerves I think. I'm not as susceptible to side effects of meds (at least none that I've listed or tried) and try to take the gaba instead of the Ativan when I can.

I did just up my dose of lamo to 75 mgs today
