It's probably not psychosis. If anything, you've forgotten how to take for granted what people know intuitively, or without further thought. Your (our) kind of issue is very common with people that post here: looking for assurance to a problem that really isn't a problem if we took it for granted. In essence, that's the thing with OCD,-like tendencies.

Theoretically, the solution is to find something that's more interesting than the search for an answer to this question. What that is depends on what you enjoy.

The more you think about something, the less sense it makes. This is the attitude I'm trying to take towards these kind of thoughts.

Ever said a word so many times that it lost all meaning? This is exactly that. We think so much about things, that it does make us kind of a bit dumber. It makes us forget who we are, or the answer to a lot of questions.

What were your thoughts?
Well like I said, I got kind of obsessed over color. I wondered if my idea of, say, "red" was the same as everyone else's. From there my anxiety turned it into "why do we even see color??" Really freaked me out. I got over it after awhile.

For the record I remember reading something about a poll where a good majority had a healthy dislike of the color "maroon". Don't much care for it either so I figured our color perceptions must be pretty similar since we all generally have similar emotional responses to the same colors..

Same happens if you say a Word over and over.. It starts to not make sense.

Maybe a scientific answer Will help you.

Colour is our eyes (an organ that detecs waves) within the electromagnetic spectre. Our eyes simply distinguish one wave length from another, thus helping us categorize and label everything we see around us. Both a practical tool and an enrichemnt to everything around us, instead of everything being Just Grey, as an example.

Ive read that the part of electromagnetic we can detect, vs the whole spectre thats actually out there, is like 1 in a billion. We are practically blind compared to everything we COULD see. Thats probably because it wouldnt be practical, nor beautiful if we could.

Any help feeling better or making sense?

I just can't figure out the nature of colour. Y is blue blue y is red red what makes it red what gives it that redness

Did u have that?
Yeah I definitely had thoughts like that. Only thing I could really do to combat these thoughts was to go online and research how our brains convert chemical signals from our retinas into the colors we see. Color has science behind it. You'll get over these thoughts with time.
