Anybody know how I can create a playlist and the songs 'mix' rather than fade out and in again. I'm getting married and rather than have a dj, renting the equipment and linking my laptop up to it.

Any advice?

I know absolutely nothing of how to do that, but

Congratulations!

Now, I'm sure some of these computer literate people on here
will be able to help you.

Good luck.

thanks terri*!!!!

There are several things to worry about when getting married, DP being the first, music, vows, photos, food, and dress all coming in at a close second....

I may be pm'ing you for last minute 'how do I cope?!?!?!' advice....

So, anyone a bit of a techy around here?

thanks guys

mrmole, do you remember me saying about not being able to import wma files into iTunes. And anything I've imported into iTunes can only be played through iTunes, since it seems to only store it in iTunes, as opposed to in folders on the hard drive like the wma files. (im not techy so excuse my ignorance)
will a software package like on these sites be able to use the stuff from iTunes and/or the wma files?

ive no idea about this kind of stuff!

ta!!xxx

I know nothing about iTunes I'm afraid...

You should be able to play WMA files using standard Windows Media Player. I don't know if iTunes somehow encrypts it's files, but if they're not anywhere in your 'My Documents' folder they should be in C:\Program Files\iTunes (Or wherever the iTunes program folder is located, that was just a guess)

gfunk, you can export files from itunes simply by dragging them from the library to a different folder. If itunes is set as your default media player then it will automatically open when you click on that particulr file, but you should be able to import files to another player through one of the menu options on it. What program are you trying to use?

First off Congrats!! :D

I emailed a friend of mine your question because he is a HUGE apple and itunes nerd.... This is what he emailed back to me... hope it helps:

"that's easy. No third part software is needed, Apple thinks of everything! There is already a playlist created for that exact reason. It's called "Party Shuffle" (how convenient, huh?). It's already located in your iTunes playlist (make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes). Basically, you add all of the songs you want to play at your wedding, put them in whatever order you want, and they will "mix" in and out with each other at the end of each song. Give it a try and let me know if this is what you had in mind."

sorry rainbo, didn't see your post!

Party Shuffle doesn't really 'mix them' it fades the song out ie volume goes down and the next song starts up, as opposed to the volume staying the same and the songs being mixed. do you know what I mean?

try edit--> preferences--> audio --> and adjust the crossfade playback to a longer interval... does that help?

itunes is a more elegant program than windows media IMO.
