If your 10 points down at 3rd quarter time do you give up?

Suicide is not an option with dissociation..
I have unfortunately been in the situation where I have questioned my life and considered taking the harder option of death.
But I have to ask myself...
Isn't death more unreal than my persception of unreality of earth? After all, death is probably the greatest unreality of all, so you deffinately won't be gaining anything from it... and beleive it or not, DP does end!
And DP isn't an emotion, we weren't born with us and for the bulk of it, we will not die with it, it's isn't a monster (unless we let it become a monster!) it won't follow you where ever you go, it wont make you crazy, it wont eat you and it deffinately wont kill you!

Well l agree it won't eat me or kill me, but in my case it does follow me everywhere and it has made me crazy. Suicide isn't an option for me only because I'm afraid the afterlife will be even worse than this...impossible as that seems.

The only thing that really gives me hope is that, like you mentioned, I wasn't born with it so maybe that means it will end.

We weren't born with this, and perhaps what is even weirder or more upsetting to me is that just six months ago I didnt' feel like this. I wonder what changed, and I know that it's because I had a bad episode, and then the fear takes over and holds me as I keep tihnking about it. If i could just stop thinking about this, i know it would go away. The only hard part is figuring out how to stop thinking about it, get back to that point before I had the really bad episode about six months ago when it came back because of ONE bad experience..distraction from it helps, but it's a bitch to keep distracting yourself and focusing outward. However, as many on this board have shown us, it is possible...so we just need to get back to that innocent state of no dp/dr. I know we can do it, we just need to learn how to do it! (I'm on this whole positive thinking bit right now, so forgive me  )
