I verray agree with falling_free, because in truth, it's a mixture of the two.

In any case, existance is a gift. The only other possibility is that we don't exist - which, to me at least, would be a bit of a bummer. Our curse is just an integral part of the gift we've been given. It's what defines the gift for people with ongoing DP/DR.

Just my two cents.

BWHAHAHAA!

Sorry, I think this poll is funny. 'Cause of course it's a gift. If you don't believe that, how are you ever going to get over your DR/DP? Seems to me that kind of thinking is very indicative of the reason you have this disorder in the first place.

While things can be very hard at time it is worth it.

I've had a lot of bad crap happen but it is worth it.

If I had to pick one reason why it would be cars. Going out on a back country road and putting the pedal to the metal. The sound of the engine roaring as it revs up. The feeling in your back as the car accelerates. The tugging at your side as you blast through curves at two and a half the legal speed limit. The subtle inputs you get from the car as you approach the limits. The feeling of flicking your car around the corner on a gravel road.

If someone was to come to me and say I can make your DP, depression, and anxiety go way and all that it would cost is that you could never drive a car again. I would tell him thanks but no thanks.

You don't know what gifts you have until you've lost them..then they are a haunting curse. That is until you learn to accept both as they are.
