Hey guys I got DPDR by convincing my mind that masturbation to porn is REALLY DANGEROUS ,anyway..
How many of this annoying things do you have?
- seeing TV in 3D without any 3D glasses
- flashbacks too many flashbacks
- you see the world like you are watching movie
- can't go out in daylight because my vision is really baaaaddd (eye floaters dark dots, white dots, seeing electric things!)
- feeling of I'm in spirit world /everything looks like video games like animation
- loud sound sensitivity, light sensitivity
- I feel the world exist only where I'm looking at
- can't feel my eyes my head my face like I don't have them
- songs stuck in my mind, pictures stuck in my mind even when I wake up there's a song playing in my head and usually it's a song that I have been listening to it the most yesterday
- sometimes I feel the things are too close that they might hit my eyes but they are not close to me (if you know what I'm saying)

Sorry for bad English please help me please let me know I'm not the only one :(

Hi mmdpri,

You're certainly not alone! Among what you listed, I remember experiencing these:

- I feel the world exist only where I'm looking at
- can't feel my eyes my head my face like I don't have them

- you see the world like you are watching movie

- feeling of I'm in spirit world

- flashbacks too many flashbacks

- loud sound sensitivity, light sensitivity

The perceptual distortions (e.g., 3D vision) are easy to create with your imagination in dp/dr, especially with anxiety and when you're desperate to make sense of such a strange experience. There are many other ways you could be experiencing it, but none of them have any reality.

You will perceive everything normally when the dp/dr goes away. It won't even be possible for you to imagine yourself into this state again.

I spent a lot of time during recovery feeling like I was on the edge. Avoid major triggers and excessive stress while you're recovering and for a few months afterwards.

Find other problems and challenges in your life to focus on! In dp/dr, our perspective is inverted and ordinary life concerns seem distant and small. But it's an illusion. Your mind is just trying (and failing) to protect you from stresses (such as your stress over masturbating and porn) by pushing life far away. The space that it leaves is filled by all kinds of strange thoughts and perceptions.
