Hi everyone,

I am choosing to put this topic in this section of the board as sometimes it can get a bit low and I think it needs a positive boost! So I am suggesting if anyone has any favourite quotes to put them here, they are great for affirmations too. :)

I am going to kick off with several:

"If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes".
St. Clement of Alexandra

"Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome".
Samuel Johnson

"Nothing contributes so much to tranquilize the mind as a steady purpose--
a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye".
Mary Shelley

"The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves."
Helen Keller

looking forward to hearing everyones :)

My grandmother used to say-
"the key to happiness is to get up and doing something you don't want to do but must get done"
It hasn't worked for me.
Hey Mark

I think you may have missed the point a bit? Ha :p

I think this quote means, you do somehting for someone withought thought of oneself, it's called giving of oneself, again you cannot put a price on ones time given :)

Probably the question you're asking is how did Helen Keller learn to communicate in a socially acceptable way. She communicated just fine prior to being able to sign. Unfortunately, it was not socially acceptable.

Her family hired a teacher, Annie Sullivan to help control her. Annie would sign words into her hand when they would encounter various objects. For instance, she would put Helen's hand on grass and sign the letters for grass.

copied this from yahoo answers :D

shes was a remarkable woman
yes !! thats her spirit i have seen the film :)

the film is actually just called "helen keller" i think, its really good xxx
