Im just after gettin up and Ive been dreaming about the new year.the feeling ive got about this is not optimistic at all.Does anyone else have the problem of bringing dp and depressive thinking into dreams and waking up feelin low and anxious?Sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, tossing and turning and insomnia are other symptoms ive got.It would be a major breakthru if i got over this/it sets upthe day very badly for me

I can relate to what you're getting at Widescreen. I know many people here have had sleep paralysis and the like. I haven't had that myself, but I have had weird, almost lucid dreams, and these can make me feel very weird for a long time in the morning.

It's annoying, but it's not something that you're alone on. And, at least for me, it went away before long.

Point taken about the exact date of new year.but i suppose the problem in my head is the nature of the date, the marking of a date to look back and look forward with nostalgia and hope and with family and friends.Unfortunately,it doesnt work like that for people with troubled minds and when everyone else is celebrating life it can put you in a deeper hole.It would be nice to be able to join in the celebrations rather than running a mile from them. The dream last nite was a vivid and disturbing reminder of this,Im ok now but I was in despair this morning.Dreams are weird!

Sounds to me like your mind is just fine -- it's your FEELINGS that are unexperienced directly and manifesting themselves in BODILY SYMPTOMS and indirect appearance in your consciousness while you dream.

I know quite well the feeling you describe about celebrations in general. Nothing in the universe does not change except that which is beyond time, so you may want to look at how to manage the inevitable change in your feelings, behavior, and so forth using your conscious mind AND your unconscious mind as partners.

Well, I feel like mornings are the most important part of the day. I say this because when I wake up and say "Do I feel DP'ed?" or "Am I gonna feel like crap today?" Then I feel worse. But if I wake up and kinda forget about it as soon as it challanges me, it stays away.
