There is no cure for the source of dpdr as far as I know. However, there are things you can do to make the symptoms which are coming with this less severe. For me therapy has helped a lot, it made most of my depression disappear, I can deal with dpdr a bit better and I know a few triggers and how to ground and protect myself. Life with dpdr is hard, but there are ways to deal with this. Everyone who experiences this experiences dpdr in a different way, so different things will work for everyone in a different way. What I can recommend is seeing a therapist, one who is specialised in trauma, depending on what triggered your dpdr.

What is dp/dr? For you, you might see it as tremendous suffering. If you are disordered, then the disorder is not separate from the whole fabric of your being. It is you. So that means the asking how to become normal again, that confusion itself is the disorder. If your mind wasnt constantly doubting the ability it’s never really lost, then it would be sharp, alert, and without unnecessary resistance. See that. Please, try to see what I mean when I said all that

Don’t generalize all of it by wrapping it up as dp/dr. What you said makes treatment for it look very mysterious, when in reality it is only a vague symptom as a result of a broken mind. So first, start with the issue of neuroticism

Everyone is different as to why they have the dr/dp from my understanding.
Mine is like fog and pressure, and who knows why my brain does this?

Stress? That's my guess.

To help depersonalization, one has to find the root cause of it; that's my understanding.

But I understand how you feel, because it's discouraging to know this will go on for years and years.

Hang in there, and maybe you'll start getting relief sooner than you believe.
